Dr. Robert Anthony: Pessimists have 1 thing in common...‏

Are you an optimist or a pessimist?  Psychologist Martin Seligman, the godfather of the positive psychology moment, conducted extensive research in optimists versus pessimists. What he found was optimism can be learned. He discovered that optimists consistently talk about what they are rather than what they are not, or what they have instead of what they don't have. Pessimists have one thing in common, they talk about why things are not the way they should be and what they don't have.

We are not born pessimists. In fact, all children are optimists until we program them differently. Stand outside any amusement park on any given weekend and talk to the families that exit. Kids come out and you ask them, "What did you think of the park?" The gush, "Oh that was so cool!" Now talk to the parents and here is what they say, "Lines are too long".  "Food was overpriced". "The damn noise and crowds get on my nerves". So is the amusement park a happy place or a place from hell? The answer is - it is neither. It
depends on the meaning we give to it.

How did we go from being born optimists to being pessimists? Somewhere along the way we were trained not to be optimistic in case things don't work out.  If you are too optimistic and things don't work out you will be very disappointed.  But if you are pessimistic and they don't work out you will be less disappointed and of course, you will be "right".

Seligman also states that we can learn or relearn how to be optimistic. According to his research optimists outperform pessimists ten to one! Maybe it is
time to reprogram our thinking and ask, "What is good about this situation?" and if we cannot find the good, ask, "What does my reaction to this say about me?" This can help you to become more of an optimist.

Abraham-Hicks: The 5 Step Process Of Creation

Abraham-Hicks: Their Most Important Message

"This is my time of chilling.
This is my time of re-aligning the energy of my source.
This is the time, when source takes over my apparatus.
This is the time when source is communicating with my cells.
This is the time, when source is resonating with the cells of my body.
This is the time of complete relaxation, for me.
This is the time of complete renewal for me.
This is the time, when my body renews itself.
This is the time when my vibration restores itself.
This is the time, that I push the reset-button.
This is the time, when I let all that has been, just subside.
This is the time, where I begin in a new vibration, that will really serve me.
This is the time, where I allow the momentum of my Vortex to begin moving into my life-experience.
This is the turning point for me, but not a turning-point that requires action!
In fact, it´s the opposite.
It requires de-activation.
It requires re-laxing, it requires softening my vibration.
It requires letting myself be.
It requires trusting that all is well!
It requires letting the source within me revel in that, which is me."
"You can meditate yourself into riches.
You can meditate yourself into fame and fortune.
You can meditate yourself into ANYTHING, by slowing the resistance and just finding the place.
Don´t worry, you can´t stay there!
Your Vortex is so full of all you want, and the source within you knows the path between where you are, in terms of ALL your manifestations, and where you want to be.
So IF YOU created the right environment, the path will reveal itself to you."

Dr. Robert Anthony: Connection

"The motions and patterns and connections of things become apparent on a gut level." - Robyn Davidson

Have you ever had a moment in time when you were amazed at how connected things and people are?  Sometimes it comes from finding out that a current friend went to college with someone you both know or your colleague in a foreign country is reading the very same book you are at the time. As our world has shrunk and we are able to communicate so quickly, we now can validate what many have been saying throughout the ages; we are all connected.

When we are having a difficult time it is easy to forget that we are connected.  It isn't that our connection is ever broken, most of the time it is because we have closed down our extensions of connection and forgotten we are not alone.

Have you ever had a bad day lightened up by an interaction with a stranger?  Have you ever had difficulty understanding something and then received an answer simply by observing nature or animals?

Try this when you are seeking an answer to a question. Go for a walk in nature, or even just in your neighborhood. As you walk, suspend thinking about either the question or the answer and pay attention to your environment.  Feel the temperature of the air on your skin, notice the sound your feet make as you walk, let your eyes move and see whatever they want to, smell the air and touch the textures that you pass as you walk.  As much as possible, just be in the moment with the changing scenery as you walk.

Notice any pattern you see along the way, the way the flowers are growing, the way the dogs fight for a bone or the stillness of the evening, as examples. When you come home ask yourself if you have any answers to your question. Allow whatever is there to emerge.  On a deep gut level, you always know more than you think you do.

[Positivity] No One is Coming‏!

Today I would like to share one of my favorite thoughts on self-improvement.

This short thought comes from Nathaniel Branden's book The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem and it simply goes like this:

"No one is coming".

Short. But it has been a powerful and sobering reminder for me.

Because yes, you can look for the next big thing that will fix you.

Read more blog articles. Read more personal development books. Look for people to help you.

And yes, some articles, books, products or people will give you support and insights that resonate deeply with you and that you can put into practice.

But in the end, if you are an adult then no one is coming. No one is coming to save you. You have to take responsibility for your own life and what happens in it. Other things and people can certainly aid you quite a bit. But you are responsible.

You can go around blaming society or some people for your problems in your social life. Or finances. Or health. You can always find scapegoats to judge to feel better about yourself. You can look for people that will "fix you". You can do this for the rest of your life if you like. It won't change much. Whatever has to be done, it's you who have to take responsibility and do it.

Yeah, things might always not go your way. You'll fall and stumble and you will probably have bad luck from time to time.

But you still have to focus on yourself and on doing what you can do with what you have in whatever situation that may arise in your world.

Have a wonderful day.

Anybody Want A Coke?

Scary stuff, coke .....

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water
you should drink every day?

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the

into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your

#1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of the trucks for about 20 years! Now the question is, would you like a glass of water? Or Coke?

Dr Robert Anthony: Solitude Is Vital‏

"Like water, which can clearly mirror the sky and the trees only so long as its surface is undisturbed, the mind can only reflect the true image of the Self when it is tranquil and wholly relaxed." - Indra Devi

Solitude is a vital experience we require in order to grow and expand our consciousness.  Being by yourself in quiet with no other distractions is one of the best ways to connect deeply with yourself, nature and your inner voice.  Some Personality Types tend to have a resistance to that kind of experience because of their Focus of Attention.

However, solitude is a recommended practice for everyone and the more you don't want to do it, the more you will grow from the experience.

Solitude is not about being closed down or putting up walls against intrusion. The kind of solitude that will help you grow and deepen is when you purposely choose to be by yourself in the silence. It is not about escaping, it is about stepping into something inviting.

If this subject is making you uncomfortable, start practicing with thirty minutes at a time and slowly build up to several hours. Once you have increased to that level, it is recommended that you spend an overnight by yourself. There are many retreat centres that offer that kind of experience in groups, if that feels safer to you, or you can go away by yourself.

However you orchestrate your solitude, don't take anything but a journal to write in. No books to read, music to play or movies to watch.  Walking in nature is recommended.  It is best to talk or text others as little as possible.  In this fast-paced world our nervous systems can easily be overloaded and even though your Personality Type might crave stimulus, your body and nervous system crave quiet and solitude.  Try it and see what pearls of wisdom and benefits you gain.

"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time." - Anna Freud

Dr Robert Anthony: Your Vibrational Indicators

Everything that manifests in your life or anybody else's life that you are observing, is nothing more than an indication of your vibrational frequency.  It is an INDICATOR. Indicators are manifestations of what you have been doing vibrationally. Period. So if wonderful things are happening, you are receiving indications of the vibrations you have been sending out. If things have been out of control in your life, then you've got negative manifestations of what you have been offering vibrationally.

Indicators are just that - indicators.  You don't want to kill the messenger. You don't go to the gas station when the gas gauge is on empty and lay your head on the steering wheel in utter despair and say, "Oh look at what I have done. The gas gauge is on empty but I kept driving. My life is a mess". The gas gauge is an indicator and you know you have to do something about it. You don't paste a happy face sticker over the gas gauge because it is depressing to see you are on empty.  And you don't usually wait until you are completely out of gas and standing on the side of the road. You fill it up don't you?

That's what we are talking about here. We are talking about your indicator that lets you know what your habit of thought has been. And if you have been feeling pretty crummy lately then it is time for a fill up. If things are not going the way you want them to - it's time to change your thoughts about it.  It's time to offer some more deliberate thought. It's time to seek a better attitude. It's time to stop blaming yourself and others, stop feeling sorry for yourself and become more positive, even in the smallest way. Don't blame your "indicator". Instead, train your mind to look for the good things in your life and you will find them.

Abraham Hicks: Our Vortex Is Always Pregnant With Our Wanted Stuff!

"By paying attention to the way you feel, and then choosing thoughts that feel the very best, you are managing your own vibration, which means you are controlling your own point of attraction — which means you are creating your own reality. It's such a wonderful thing to realize that you can create your own reality without sticking your nose in everybody else's, and that the less attention you give to everybody else's reality, the purer your vibration is going to be — and the more you are going to be pleased with what comes to you." - Abraham-Hicks

Some Comments From People Who Have Benefited From The Teachings Of Abraham-Hicks:

"Anyone who is so passionately against Abraham is incredibly sad to me. I just turned 18 and I thank god, spirit, and myself for finding Abraham because it has saved my life. I am one of many who has struggled with depression my whole life. After graduating high school I was spiralling downward faster then I could think. And I could have easily been one of the many in my age group who has committed suicide these past few years. Easily. But Abraham's words reached me. Spoken to me in ways no song, no adult, no preacher could ever hope to do. Give it a rest people. All this is.. is about positive thoughts. No rituals. No mandatory meetings. No criteria. Pure. Positive. Thought."

"I come from an extremely Christian family that I struggled to please my entire life. I struggled to be exactly what a good Christian girl was “supposed” to be. And I never felt good about myself. I was always criticized by the Christian community. And to be perfectly honest, had it not been for Abraham's words of wisdom I would have resented and rebelled against Christianity in my adulthood out of pure desperation. But I've learned to accept. I accept the contrast I've experienced in my life knowing the intention behind it was good, just as the intention behind Abraham is good."

"If Jesus has taught you anything you would understand the bigger picture. Its about embracing each other for the greater good, not for your personal ego in what you consider to be good. Jesus didn't ask people their race or religion before aiding them… this is why I used to hate Christian's… the bitterness and judgement is all I used to hear. And it drove me into absolute darkness."

"Please let us shed these ancient ideals, or at least our interpretations of them that continues to hold us apart. And embrace this evolution of thought. Along with almost everyone I know in my graduating class, we consider this to be an era of awakening. And I couldn't be more happy to be alive."

"I can personaly attest to the benefits of believing that our pupose in life is love, joy, and happiness. Since applying the teachings of Abraham to my life my relationships with my family and friends have evolved to a level unknown by me before now. The amount of love and happiness in my life has increased ten fold since I learned to let go of the dogmas set forth by others. Since learning not to concern myself with the judgements and beliefs of others I have experienced a sense of freedom beyond the senses. It is truly heaven on earth. So, my wish for you and everyone, is that you someday find the alignment you are so desperatly seeking and missing for it is a beautiful thing. We are all children of the same universe. God bless."

Dr Robert Anthony: Surrender To The Flow

"How do these geese know when to fly to the sun?  Who tells them the seasons?  How do we, humans, know when it is time to move on?  How do we know when to go?  As with the migrant birds, so surely with  us, there is a voice within, if only we would listen to it, that tells us so certainly when to go forth into the unknown." - Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, M.D.

Trusting yourself is a major sign of surrendering to the Flow. As in the above quote, the geese don't seem to argue over when it is time to fly south, they just seem to know. The less victimized you feel by your background, your work history, your relationship history, your health, age or anything else, the easier it is for you to hear that voice within. As you move higher up the Levels of Awareness, you will find that voice gets louder in every stage. This is partly due to the reduction of your drama and partly due to your willingness to hear your own wisdom.

The next step after hearing your inner voice, is to trust what it says and dare to act on it. That takes practice and you will find you do a lot of that in the Learning and Experiencing Level of Awareness. Don't be alarmed if you act on something that you thought was your inner voice communicating and it proves to be inaccurate or not in your best interest. Sometimes our egos want to get into the game and will play tricks on us.  How do you know the difference?  That will vary for each of you, but here are a few tips. The more your inner voice is concerned with being right, the more likely it is ego, not internal wisdom.  If you waffle back and forth a lot regarding taking action, that is still your ego trying to be safe.  In that case ask yourself, "If I knew I couldn't do it wrong, what would I do?"   That will give you an answer that is not coming from fear or ego.

Begin to notice how you hear or sense your inner voice when it has led you in the right direction. Pay special attention to the fact that it is often not logical. Your inner voice has its own non-linear way of knowing and communicating.  It is your job to discover your own patterns and trust that no matter what it looks like on the surface, there are good reasons to honor your internal wisdom. How many times have you noticed after something you feared has happened, looking back on it, you realize it was the best thing for you after all?
